QA Awards Winners

BWMCA QUIET ACHIEVERS’ AWARDS 2010

Following on from the inauguration of the Awards the Buderim War Memorial Community Association would again like to celebrate the achievement and contribution of individuals and community organisations throughout Buderim. These awards are designed to pay tribute to those who make extraordinary contributions to our society or who are outstanding achievers in our community.

The awards are an opportunity to publicly acknowledge the many local heroes within the community, whose dedication and contributions may otherwise go unnoticed.

The Buderim War Memorial Community Association will administer the Awards, but will play no part in the actual judging of nominations.

There will be three categories for individual nomination and there may be more than one winner in each category if the judges deem worthy.

COMMUNITY AWARD

SPORTS AWARD

ARTS / CULTURE AWARD

These three categories will seek nominations in both Adult and Youth sections. Nominees to be 21 years and over on November 21 for the Adult awards and under 21 on November 21 for Youth Awards.

The following categories will be awarded for groups and again there may be more than one winner in each category:

COMMUNITY SERVICE

COMMUNITY EVENT / ACTIVITY

SPORTING & RECREATION

ENVIRONMENT AWARD

From the individual nominations, the judges will choose:

The BWMCA Quiet Achiever for 2010

The BWMCA Young Achiever for 2010

These two awards may be from any category and will be awarded solely on the judges’ recommendations.

No nominations may be entered specifically for these two awards.

WHO CAN ENTER?

This year the only criterion is that the nominee has a proven link to Buderim. Whether it is through residency, through making an individual contribution to the Buderim community in some way, or by being a valued member of an organisation that has played an active role within the community – any individual or group who has influenced the community in a positive manner is eligible. We would love to hear of them.

WHO CANNOT ENTER?
  • Individual Members of the Quiet Achievers’ Awards Committee
  • Members of the BWMCA’s Advisory Committee
  • Any nominations that include service to the BWMCA will be judged on service external to the BWMCA only
